Transition Year is an optional programme being offered by Coláiste na Ríochta for students upon completion of their Junior Cycle. The programme was available to students for the first time in September 2023. It offers students the opportunity to renew and consolidate the work done in Junior Cycle, explore new areas and methods of study, and make a more mature and informed choice regarding their future development and learning at Senior Cycle level.
The maximum number of available places for TY will be dependent upon staffing, facilities and resources and other contributing factors. Parents and students will be made aware of this during the application process.
