At Coláiste Na Ríochta we offer a wide range of subjects in our Junior Cycle programme. As part of our commitment to student success we encourage and support students in taking higher level subjects. In addition to our subject choice, students also experience a wide range of teaching methodologies to ensure their learning style is supported. Our teaching is guided in best international practice and we will endeavour to ensure that each student reaches their full potential here.
We are fully aware that students need a wide range of skills to help them face the many challenges presented to them in today’s world. They develop specific skills in their subjects and other courses. However, there is also a more general set of skills that are needed to support learners in their personal, social and work lives. We refer to these as the key skills of junior cycle. As students develop each of the key skills in an integrated way they will also become better learners. This is part of the new junior cycle framework that as a school we are embracing.
